Speedboat hits sandbar.
Appledore ILB was launched after Coastguards received a 999 call from the owner of a speedboat to say they had hit a sandbank off Penhill Point and required assistance, with 2 adults and 2 children onboard. When ILB arrived on scene it was noted that the boat was well aground and nothing could be done, a crewmember put an anchor out so the boat would not drift on the next tide, the 4 persons were brought onboard the ILB and brough back to station.
