Longest Day, 2008

June-21 was to prove the Longest Day for the skipper of this single-engined day boat after it had started to take on water!

Appledore Lifeboat and Appledore ILB were launched to assist 5m powerboat which had taken on water due to adverse weather conditions. The ALB salvage pump was used to pump the excess water from the casualty, Rescue Helicopter 169 was also on scene in case an evacuation was needed.

After pumping out the casualty the boat was escorted back to Appledore where she then made her own way to her moorings at Fremington.
