Dutch Barge Rescue

Appledore All-weather Lifeboat was requested to launch to assist a 27m ex Dutch barge which had suffered engine failure in Bideford bay, when the ALB arrived on scene the vessel was at anchor, the anchor was raised and the casualty taken in tow to Appledore. The vessel had suffered mechanical failure after the fuel filters became blocked and no spares were onboard.
